West Texas Poetry

Beautiful...

the nasty storm paving way for still waters

the golden merger of the sunset and the lake

the orange then red then purple clouds

the easy drifting into the silent reeds

the coyote family howling on a distant shore

the peace from waiting

the flaring lightning in the distance

the starry canvas up above

the dancing water from the boat being towed

the relief that we didn't have to swim back

the rising moon

the humor shared afterward

beautiful.
